Sybi Trowsdale (Chair)
I joined the U3A In November 2023, with the intention of letting someone else do the committee work!!!! I had just left a WI committee as secretary. Relaxing was not to be. I had my first executive committee meeting on 4th July 2024 with a wonderful group of people who I am really looking forward to working with.
My job history was as an Executive P/A normally working for a President in multi-national organisations. In industries such as industrial relations, commodity trading, pharmaceuticals, and the wine trade (lots of perks here). I worked long hours but loved every minute of my day.
Taking on the position of Chair is a great privilege and a new journey that I truly will relish.
Kind regards
Sybi

Expression of Interest in the post of Vice Chairman, u3a Epsom & Ewell
Why am I applying?
Continuing to enjoy membership of various groups within u3a Epsom & Ewell and having done so over several years it feels timely to offer discernible support.
What can I offer?
In the not too distant past I was a trustee of a local charity that offered training to members of the community who had experienced mental health issues and were subsequently keen to develop their skills and return to work. My main role was to apply for grants from various sources to help finance the charity’s objectives together with assisting the Administrator with various tasks on an ad hoc basis.
About the same time, being a keen gardener I joined the committee of the Hardy Plant Society, Southern Counties group, (whose main focus is the growing, care and propagation of perennial plants) where my role included organising an annual coach trip together with booking horticulturally qualified speakers.
My involvement with the above organisations ran concurrently for a period of twelve years eventually curtailed due to changing family circumstances.
Thank you of your consideration.

I joined the U3A when I retired in May 2023 and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many lovely people.
I really wanted to support the U3A as it relies upon volunteers coming forward.
I’ve had a love of technology since the 1970s when I started out as a programmer and I worked for an organisation that provides payroll services to thousands of companies so the importance of your data security, privacy and accuracy has been driven into me!
Having also run “service” and audit teams. I hope I can greet you with a smile at Bourne Hall and manage your needs effectively.
I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to join the Epsom & Ewell U3A Committee and help our U3A continue to thrive! “
