Ukulele – Playing

u3a Ukulele Players Group – Monday afternoon

Our Monday afternoon ukulele group enjoys playing and singing together, sharing hints and tips about techniques and strumming patterns, and reliving many of the favourite songs from our youth!

We always have an enjoyable time together.

Our repertoire is everything from the 1920’s right up to more modern songs, but we mostly play songs from the 60’s to 80’s.  Think Beatles, Elvis, Herman’s Hermits, Johnny Cash, The Crystals, Mamma Cass, Status Quo, blues songs …… anyone’s favourites can normally be tackled on the ukulele – or we certainly give it a try!

Our weekly Monday group is for slightly more experienced people and we occasionally perform singalongs to local care groups which we all enjoy.

If you’ve played a guitar in the past, you will pick up the ukulele very quickly.  You will need to bring along your own ukulele, and be able to print out the song sheets at home.

We currently meet at Epsom Bowling Club during the winter and the at All Saint’s Church in West Ewell in the summer.  Every Monday except bank holidays, from 2pm – 4pm.

Cost is £3 per week to cover room hire and a cup of tea & biscuits. Contact Sue for more info email
